Is the regular tour suitable for your cruise?

This depends entirely on your ship’s scheduled arrival, whether passengers are arriving directly into Dublin Port or by tender into Dún Laoghaire, and the time of your final boarding.

Cruise schedules can also change, so we strongly recommend allowing plenty of time between the tour return and your ship’s departure.

If the timings work, joining our regular Wild Wicklow Tour can be an excellent way to experience much more of Wicklow during your day ashore.

Arriving at Dún Laoghaire

Many cruise ships visiting Dublin anchor offshore at Dún Laoghaire and bring passengers ashore by tender.

Once in port our pickup point at the Royal Marine Hotel is just a short 10 minute walk from the port.

Because tender operations can take time, the regular tour will only be suitable where your ship is scheduled to begin disembarkation sufficiently early.

Arriving at Dublin Port

Guests arriving directly into Dublin Port may also be able to join the regular tour, depending on the ship’s arrival time and how quickly passengers are permitted ashore.

We recommend checking your individual cruise schedule carefully before booking.

What time does the tour return?

Our regular Wild Wicklow Tour normally returns to Dublin in the late afternoon.

If your cruise stays late in port, you can continue on to Dublin City and get the Dart back to Dun Laoghaire at a later time.

If you need to make it back to port before 5.30pm you can be dropped off at loughlinstown around 4.30pm and get a taxi (20 minute drive) from there back to the port.

Because cruise ships have different boarding deadlines, we cannot guarantee that the regular tour will suit every cruise itinerary.

Not sure if your ship times will work?

Send us:

  • The name of your cruise ship
  • Your date in Dublin
  • The scheduled arrival time
  • The scheduled departure time
  • Whether the ship is docking in Dublin Port or tendering into Dún Laoghaire, if known

We can then advise whether joining the regular Wild Wicklow Tour looks practical.

Prefer a tour designed around your ship?

For families, groups or guests who would prefer greater flexibility, we may also be able to arrange a private Wicklow tour with collection and return timed around your cruise ship.

Private tours can be tailored to include locations such as Glendalough, Sally Gap, Lough Tay and other Wicklow highlights, depending on the time available.

Discover Wicklow while you’re in Dublin

Many day tours simply pass through Wicklow on the way somewhere else.

Wild Wicklow is different.

We specialise in exploring our home county, travelling on smaller roads, visiting the landscapes we know best and giving you time to experience Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains properly.

If your cruise schedule allows it, we’d love to welcome you aboard the Original Wild Wicklow Tour.
